 Levi-Montalcini Foundation uses Paulownia for an eco-sustainable innovation center.

The project was designed by the famous Italian architect Giancarlo Zema, who is famous for his eco-sustainable projects. However, the most impressive feature of the project is the use of 500 Paulownia trees that surround the center.

At the entrance to the center, an interactive system is installed that will display in real time the electrochemical processes taking place between the plants, as well as the amount of CO2 absorbed and oxygen released.

Paulownia is a tree species known for its ability to absorb large amounts of CO2. These trees are capable of absorbing about ten times more CO2 than normal trees, or about 50 tonnes per year.

Avocado Ripeness Guide Malaysian Edition

 How to Check the Ripeness of an Avocado: Specifically for Bangi 45

Color Test:

The skin of most avocado varieties darkens as it ripens, turning from bright green to a deep green or even purplish-black. However, remember that color alone can be misleading because some avocados remain green when ripe. For Bangi 45, yes it does turn purplish-black.

Feel Test:

Gently squeeze the avocado with your palm without applying pressure from your fingertips, as this can cause bruising.

A ripe avocado will yield slightly under pressure, indicating softness but not mushiness. If it feels hard, it's not ripe yet. If it feels very soft or mushy, it may be overripe. Adjust according depending on your preference. I, Raymond Etc AvocadoBoy prefers softer , but not mushy.

Stem Test:

Flick off the small stem or cap at the top of the avocado.

If the area underneath is bright green, the avocado is good to eat.

If it's brown, the avocado may be overripe.

If the stem doesn't come off easily, it's not ripe yet.

Shake Test:

Shake the avocado next to your ear. If you hear the pit moving around, it might be overripe.

When is an Avocado Ready for Consuming?

Underripe: If the avocado is hard and doesn't yield to gentle pressure, it's underripe. To speed up the ripening process, place it in a brown paper bag with a banana or apple. The ethylene gas emitted by these fruits will accelerate ripening.

Just Right: When the avocado yields to gentle pressure but doesn't feel mushy, it's ready to eat. The flesh should be creamy and green when you cut it open.

Overripe: If the avocado feels very soft, has a rancid smell, or the flesh has dark brown or black spots when cut open, it's overripe and may not be good for consumption.

Remember, individual avocados can vary, so use a combination of the methods above to get the best gauge of ripeness. Enjoy your avocados!

 Thank you for letting me talk about my Avocado Journey. Looking back, at 2010 when I came into contact with Avocado in Sabah. I took a deeper dive into Avocado after failing in Rubber trees, prices dropped till RM $1.00 / kg. Started to plant local hybrids and Hass from seeds. Ran out of funds and have to came back to Peninsular 2016. Continued advocating Avocado while hustling for a living. Went into MLM, employment and also drove for GRAB. Went back into Agriculture with helps from friends and started being Brand Ambassador / Promoter in fertilizers and Plant Nutrient.

By the grace of God, a venue was made available for Avocado planting in Bangi. My deepest gratitude to Bangi Farm Resort.
 

The 1st Avocado tree was planted end September 2017. It was a slow start, from a Six trees Avocado farm.

We started to collect any varieties that we can lay our hands on. Local as well as imported. Took scions from friends / some bought and started grafting.

It also took us a while to sort out the soil conditions here for the trees to thrive. Lots of failures , trials and errors. These covered the whole aspects from seedlings to tree.

Fast forward, 4 years down the road, 2021
Bangi Farm Resort had been converted into an Ecco Tourism destination, covering not only plants, but live stock. Complimenting our working partners , Bangi Farm Resort is a showcase of a complete ecological system for Food security. Farm to Fork, Fork to Farm and Beyond. We had introduced the Black Soldier Fly to Up-cycle organic food waste and plug it back to our ecco-system, giving it a more Green, more Sustainable , more Cleaner and reduce our Carbon Foot print.

JumBo Hass avocado weighs from 250g-400g (size 48 to 32), equivalent to a Pinkerton avocado. The characteristics of the new avocado line is similar to Hass, with excellent quality, beautiful shape, long shelf life and a rough thick skin.

The JumBo Hass avocado variety fully converges the qualities of the Hass avocado variety but has the remarkable points in terms of weight and quality. The JumBo Hass avocado variety is an off-season avocado variety, in the Central Highlands of Vietnam, to be harvested in November and December.

JumBo Hass avocados even have flowers in group A. The fruit flesh accounts for 70% of the fruit, has a creamy yellow color, has a creamy, delicious, rich taste, and easily separated skin.
