Papaya trees dropping leafs

I wonder what is happening to the papayas trees in this area. The leafs had dropped off, but the tree is still growing and fruiting. This is happening to all fruiting trees (female) but not the non-fruiting trees (male). I also notice that the leafs are growing back. Tried to google but can find anything yet. Who can help?
